The opening and closing part of the pneumatic knife gate valve is the gate. The movement direction of the gate is vertical to the flow direction. The manual knife gate valve can only be fully opened and closed, and cannot be used for regulating and throttling. The gate has two sealing surfaces. The most commonly used mode is that the two sealing surfaces of the gate valve forms a wedge. The wedge angle differs based on the valve parameters, which is generally 50. The gate of the wedge knife gate valve can be made into a whole, called rigid gate; it can also be made into a gate that can produce a small amount of deformation, so as to improve its manufacturability and make up for the deviation of sealing surface angle during processing. This type of gate is called flexible gate. When the knife gate valve is closed, the sealing surface can be sealed only by relying on the pressure of the media, that is, to rely on the pressure of the media to press sealing surface of the gate to the valve seat at the other side to ensure the sealing of the sealing surface. This is self-sealing. Most knife gate valves are forcibly sealed, that is, when the valve is closed, the gate is forced to be pressed to the valve seat by external force to ensure the sealing of the sealing surface.
